Classical common palm nerves and digital arteries are defined as concomitantes. During the routine dissection classes to students of degree medicine we observe the formation of each common palm digital nerve divided into 2 or 3 branches and form a ring that encloses the corresponding common palm digital artery. Knowledge of anatomical variations of common palm nerves and digital arteries is crucial for safe and successful hand surgery. INTRODUCTION Conventional morphological characteristics in the common palm digital nerve and the artery is well documented. The medium nerve and ulnar divided into three common palm digital nerves, then descending with common digital arteries palms without any branch before the fingers fabrics. In this present study, we describe a rare and unreported variation in the course and distribution of common palm digital nerves and their relationship with common palm digital arteries. Knowledge of the frequency of anatomical variations of the neuronal and arterial pattern of the hand is crucial for safe and successful hand surgery. CASE REPORTA As the number of manual surgical interventions increases a better understanding of the anatomy of nerves and hand arteries become important. Here we describe a rare anatomical variation of the nerves and digital arteries common palms in a right palm of 42-year-old yellow males set at 10% formalin. That specimen of the body was detected during the spreads made in a routine burda anatomy course. The skin of the backs of the palm was removed, and the vessels and nerves were exposed. The superficial palmar arch and three unusual pairs of anatomical variation of the nerves and common digital arteries were identified. Each common palm digital nerve divided into 2 or 3 branches and the corresponding common palm digital artery (). At the best of our knowledge, the variation of the common palm palm arteries passed through the palm digital nerves so far have not been described. To understand the rare anatomical variation and collect new anatomical data, it is now reported as follows. We set the line that connects the scaphoid node with the pisiform bone as a reference line. The following data were measured by the caliper vernier with the accuracy of 0.02 mm. Here are shown three common palm digital nerves originated by the medium nerve or the ulnar nerve divided into 2 or 3 smaller branches, and cling to the corresponding palm digital artery. The distance from the nerves to the reference line was 53.12 mm, 54.70 mm, 54.46 mm, respectively. The distance from the coitus to the reference line was 65.60 mm, 67.76 mm, 58.80 mm, respectively. Each digital palmar nerve common downward to the tissues of the fingers, and then divided into two branches called appropriate palm digital nerves. In addition, from the intersection of each common palm and nerve digital artery, we also detect vascular printing with the diameter of 1.38 mm, 1.18 mm, 1.26 mm, respectively. The diameter of the proximal vascular impressions was 1,52 mm, 1.73 mm, 1.56 mm, respectively (). DISCUSSIONThe variations in the ulnar and medium nerves are not uncommon. The medium nerve formed a ring that enclosed the median artery has been reported. Bozkurt et al.) described an unusual termination of the ulnar nerve in the palm. Other variations on the superficial palmar arch seem to be quite common. Vollala et al.) observed the formation of superficial palmar arch only by superficial branch of the ulnar artery without any contribution of the radial artery or the median artery. They may be the cause of nervous intromission syndrome, ischemia due to variable nerve relationships with surrounding muscles and vessels. The presence of anatomical variations in common palm nerves and digital arteries is used to explain useful unexpected signs and symptoms in medical practice. The present case revealed that common palm arteries crossed the common digital palm nerves. This variation can cause abnormalities of the hand sensory inervations. With the deepening of cognition in peripheral nervous compression, the incidence of nerve penetration syndrome of the common palm digital nerve has been increasing year after year. As one of the reasons, the common digital palm artery can cause the trap of common palm digital nerve. CONCLUSION Thus, these variations are important to note by anatomists and clinicians. Knowing the existence of the abnormal case of common palm nerves and digital arteries is very essential, as it can be damaged during surgery, in trauma in this area.
